EQT, a global private equity fund (PEF) operator, announced on the 28th that it has closed the investment attraction of its flagship fund, EQT Infrastructure No. 6 Fund, to a total of 21.5 billion euros (about 33.9 trillion won).

The EQT Infrastructure 6 fund has attracted funds from a range of global institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers and insurers.

Compared to the EQT Infrastructure 5 fund, the proportion of high-value asset investments has increased significantly, and investors are distributed throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Northern Europe.

The EQT Infrastructure 6 fund, which achieved a roughly 35% increase over the fund's 5 offering, which closed at 15.7 billion euros in November 2021, provides essential services to society and invests in companies with stable or growing basic demand.

We prefer infrastructure companies with predictable cash flows and well-protected contractual business models based on assets.

Major investment themes include digital infrastructure, energy generation, storage, and distribution, decarbonization and electrification of industrial and transportation, resource efficiency and circular economy, and social infrastructure.

"EQT Infrastructure 6 Fund is off to a good start, completing 12 major investments or signing contracts to date," said Masoud Homayoun, head of EQT Infrastructure.

"Our sector team continues to generate results based on a solid investment pipeline, and we have high hopes for global long-term trends such as decarbonization, circular economic transformation, and digitalization of society," he said.

The EQT infrastructure team is supported by the EQT Industry Advisory Committee, which consists of more than 600 global business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The advisory panel participates in the entire investment process, serves as the board of directors of portfolio companies, and provides operational and strategic expertise.

EQT Infrastructure 6 Fund's investments include Constellation Cold Logistics in Europe, OX2, Startera, Universidade Europa, EdgeConnex in the United States, Heritage Environmental Services, Laser Logistics, Madison Energy Infrastructure, Liena (formerly KJ Environment) in Asia-Pacific, and SK Shields.

In addition, two cases seeking to close the transaction after signing the contract include the acquisition of the UtelSat Group's ground station infrastructure division in Europe and the acquisition of Lumos through the establishment of a joint venture (JV) with T-Mobile in the United States.
