Viva Republica, which operates Toss, announced on the 28th that it has achieved its largest sales (consolidated operating income) and first annual surplus since its foundation by announcing its full-year results in 2024.

Toss explained that it has succeeded in turning into a surplus thanks to the expansion of its user base and even growth in its business segment.

As of the end of last year, the monthly active users (MAU) of the Toss app was 24.8 million, up 29% from the previous year based on the Wise app. As the number of active users increased, the utilization rate of major services also increased, which had a positive effect on the overall business expansion such as simple payment, commerce, and advertising.

Thanks to the expansion of the user base, consolidated operating income, including sales of Toss and its subsidiaries, reached 1.95 trillion won, up 42.7 percent from a year earlier.

In particular, subsidiaries such as Toss Securities, Toss Payments, Toss Income, and Toss Insurance have grown evenly along with Toss' major services. Toss is strengthening synergy between affiliates by continuously introducing competitive services for each business sector under its "Super App" strategy.

Toss also succeeded in converting its first annual surplus. It recorded 90.7 billion won in consolidated operating profit and 21.3 billion won in consolidated net profit, improving overall profitability indicators. This is interpreted as a result of the growth of the consumer service sector, which has a high contribution to profits. The consumer service sector collectively refers to services such as remittance, brokerage, advertising, simple payment, securities, and tax.

On a separate basis for Toss, it recorded 587.1 billion won in operating profit, showing a high growth of 74.6% compared to the previous year. In addition, it recorded 11.5 billion won in operating profit and 48 billion won in net profit, and the separate standard also achieved its first annual surplus.

"This achievement 10 years after the launch of the Toss app shows that Toss' growth strategy is becoming a stable business model," Toss CEO Lee Seung-gun said.
